About Frances
Hi, I’m Frances -
I earned my degree in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, and was trained in clinical practice at Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP), in San Rafael, CA. During my time at CIP I was trained in Psychodynamic therapy practice, Jungian dream analysis, and participated in a school-based program that allowed me to work with children and families.
After finishing my Counseling degree, I completed certificate training in Hatha Tantra Yoga, an ancient somatic practice of yoga that utilizes the breath, meditation, and movement to access deep internal awareness within the body. Prior to my degree in Counseling Psychology, I earned my MBA at the University of Sydney Business School with a concentration in Leadership Training & Development. Throughout my career in business I spent over ten years working in Corporate Social Responsibility and developing regenerative food systems in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. My BA undergraduate degree focused on Human Rights & Women’s Studies, with a concentration in Rehabilitative Healing Programing in the carceral system. I was also a high-level athlete starting at a young age, which sparked my passion for nervous system regulation and somatic therapy after years of relentless training and ‘no pain no gain’ culture. I now passionately support my clients with nervous system healing, trauma processing, and connecting with their authentic highest Self.
My therapy practice is rooted in genuine connection and deep, authentic listening. Together, we will explore the parts of you that may have been hidden or hurt, as well as the parts that are growing and emerging. Through open dialogue, we will embrace your journey of self-discovery, untangle inner knots, and work toward cultivating peace, integrity, and harmony.
You may be here because of a difficult situation, a loss, or ongoing challenges that feel overwhelming. You might be grappling with anxiety, depression, or disconnection, or struggling with relationships and uncertainty about the future. Whether you're dealing with feelings of shame, low self-worth, or unresolved issues from the past, therapy is a partnership in growth, and your journey is entirely your own. My approach is anchored in cultivating safety, and is tailored to supporting your unique needs.
I use a multidisciplinary approach rooted in deep personal experience and practice. I employ a psychodynamic framework, which focuses on exploring the unconscious patterns and past experiences that shape your current feelings, behaviors, and relationships. By understanding these deeper layers, we can uncover insights that lead to lasting emotional growth and self-awareness. Together, we’ll examine the roots of your struggles, helping you make meaningful connections between the past and present, and fostering lasting change.
I also integrate somatic therapy into my practice. Somatic therapy emphasizes the connection between mind and body, helping you access and process emotions through physical sensations and body awareness. By exploring how emotions manifest in the body, we can release tension, heal from past traumas, and foster a deeper sense of nervous system well-being.
My incorporation of Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) centers on the emotional bonds in your relationships and your connection to your inner emotional world. Through the use of EFT, we work to create a safe, supportive space where you can access and express your core emotions, helping to strengthen or heal relationships and deepen emotional intimacy. Whether you are working on personal growth or improving your connections with others, EFT supports healing through emotional understanding and connection. If you find yourself wanting to explore and resolve issues around sexual desire, performance, and intimacy, while fostering deeper emotional bonds, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, we can address these challenges together.
You don’t have to feel alone, I want to share this journey with you — to help you find your way back home to your authentic Self.
